My Takeaway from the event “Gamified Cycles: Insights in Game Animation Loops”

The seminar “Gamified Cycles: Insights in Game Animation Loops” was held on December 13, 2025, in Gordon College Room 505 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and was organized by The Skyrocket Collective, our group. Hosted by Ms. Hershelle Agasa with our resource speaker, Mr. Mark Angelo Quindara, a 2D animator at Mega Cat Studios. Talking about the game animation from the smooth cycle transition of animation in both film and game.

From the event I learned the process of making a game animation, such as creating the sprites and smooth animation. The frames are for better animation of the game character. Also, I learned about the types of animation in the game industry. The speaker tackled the different types of animation, such as character animation, VFX animation, object animation, etc., which are used for games—the purpose and how to integrate them into the overall gameplay.

It was a good seminar for me, even though it had a lot of problems beforehand. Our resource speaker was good at discussing the topic, and the visuals in the preparation were good; they kept us engaged.

And from that experience, my biggest takeaway was I learned that even if it doesn’t go as we plan, it’s important to show up and continue what we have, as we have all done our best and made efforts to make this seminar happen, and there are still people who want to listen and learn, and that is the one major reason to continue.
