My Takeaway from the Industries Exposure Trip: “Snipple Animation Studios”

Image
We, the BSEMC 4 DAT batch, visited an animation studio with our faculty members: Sir Nathaniel Regojos, Sir Miguel Macabulos, Sir Loudel Manaloto, and Sir Ronnie Luy, and were accompanied by a nurse. On December 11, we went to Bagumbayan, Quezon City, near Eastwood Mall. Mr. James Arboleda, an employee of Snipple Animation Studio, guided us during the visit. He discussed their animation process and showed us their works and studio. He also showed us the office where animators work, from clean-up to paperless animation. From the visit I learned the history of the animation studio and the process from pre-prod to production. How they collaborate with the big industry in the US as of the animated series they animated. Showing their office of animators, it’s amazing how many animators they have to create an episode in animation. Mr. James also shares their work and process working on them part-time and full-time, etc.  My biggest takeaway from the trip was that there is still pr...

The seminar “Gamified Cycles: Insights in Game Animation Loops” was held on December 13, 2025, in Gordon College Room 505 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and was organized by The Skyrocket Collective, our group. Hosted by Ms. Hershelle Agasa with our resource speaker, Mr. Mark Angelo Quindara, a 2D animator at Mega Cat Studios. Talking about the game animation from the smooth cycle transition of animation in both film and game. From the event I learned the process of making a game animation, such as creating the sprites and smooth animation. The frames are for better animation of the game character. Also, I learned about the types of animation in the game industry. The speaker tackled the different types of animation, such as character animation, VFX animation, object animation, etc., which are used for games—the purpose and how to integrate them into the overall gameplay.   It was a good seminar for me, even though it had a lot of problems beforehand. Our resource speaker was good ...

Image
The event titled “The Storytelling of Art: A Guide to Concept Design” was a live webinar organized by The Skyrocket Collective and conducted via Google Meet on November 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The session was led by Ms. Candice Torres, who served as the resource speaker. The webinar focused on the fundamentals of concept design and how visual storytelling plays an important role in animation, games, and film. From our organized webinar, I learned the importance of concept art in film and game animation. I believe concept art, from the word “concept,” gives life to the idea in visual form, like, for example, if you have a written plot, script, or gameplay. In my opinion, creating concept art is necessary for the client and director to see the vibe or approach of everything they imagined before the storyboarding She also shares her process in making concept art, and I am amazed at how she renders her art.  Also, I learned from Ms. Candice that the use of grayscale ...
